Hope everyone had a good xmas and new year. Does american TV show the same films every year- in Britain it seems The Great Escape has somehow weaved its self into the very fabric of our christmas traditions-which seems to have encouraged the development of our low national self esteem- all the british guys have well prepared escape strategies involving fake passports, trains, cunning disguise, planes, etc. who gets the furthest? Steve 'the only american guy' McQueen, who just steals a bike and then out runs the entire german army and almost jumps the border into switzerland. i blame this film for Britains poor displays across all international sports and our support of misguided military coups, sorry liberations, in the middle east. anyway Happy New Year!
