Sad News

This is a birdie update.

Although Pete and I thought we were doing the right thing, we may not have. I stayed home yesterday and while i was there i kept an eye on the nest to make sure it wasn't getting flooded. Now you have to understand where this bird made its nest. I have a huge homemade bird feeder that is tall and made of wood. In that is a plant with the leaves drapping down. When i rains, especially when it pours, the balcony becomes a waterfall. Throughout the day the area around the plant, in the bird feeder, statred to fill with water at certain times. So at about 7:30pm, Pete and I decided to move the birdfeeder a bit. Now i know what your all thinking, you shouldn't have touched it. Well we didn't technically. We figured that since it was going to rain again this weekend and perhaps again when the babies are born, its worth the risk of having the mom fly away and not have to worry about the soil in the plant getting soaked. So we moved the birdfeeder just enough so that it wouldn't be near the waterfall. It was seriously maybe 3 inches. The mom flew away of course, and she had before when i took the pictures of the eggs. She had returned the last time in about an hour. This time though, she didn't return. It was devestating. It was weird cuz we went through all the emotions as if we lost a relative or something. First we were very sad, then angry, then we kinda accepted it. Nature took its course. The mom abandoned the nest. We kept looking outside to see if she'd returned. We finally went to bed and she wasn't there. The poor eggs were now out in the open cold rainy air for over 4 hours. I woke up at about 2:30am to pouring rain and still no mom in the nest. At 5:30am she was there. Did she get lost? I don't think so. Was it maybe the dad that came to the rescue? Doubt it. Why she felt it necessary to leave the eggs for that long is beyond me. So when i woke up this morning she was still there, sitting on the eggs. Pete and I aren't experts on wild animals and nests and eggs, but we're pretty sure that its a loss. Eggs have to be incubated. Its freaking raining outside. So the due date is/was maybe Monday or Tuesday. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens. I'm not expecting an miracles though. We're pretty bummed about it and now we aren't having any babies. So i wrote this blog to keep those who care in the loop and for those who don't care, no comments please. We are very sad.

Something To Blog About

Hey there everybody. I wanted to blog about something that none of you have ever done. But I'm sure none of you want to do it. Well I went to Sardo's last night. I know some of you have sang karaoke before but that's not the big thing. I did sing Good Charlotte again. But the people there were different. They looked familiar but I just couldn't put my finger on it. Until a girl called Eva was called up and sang The Donnas song "Take It Off". Now I knew who that girl was ahee was Eva Angelina a FRIGGIN PORNSTAR!!!! Now I realized this and asked why are there pornstars here (I noticed there were more when she joined her friends who were also pornstars). He informed me that tonight was a special night called PORNSTAR Karaoke which usually happens Tuesday but had it Saturday this week. I was out of my mind I couldn't believe this. Later Dani Woodward came up and sang very good Michelle Branch "All You Wanted". After some drinks I got the courage to talk to Eva and she was a regular cool person. She didn't take off my clothes or not talk to me. We talked about the entertainment industry mostly and NO I didn't talk about PORN. Now this was cool Reggie I think was trying to get with Dani cuz he loves redheads (even though her hair is dyed). I also danced with Eva when they played a song I hate called GOLD DIGGER. She pulled me on the dance floor so I did my best to look halfway good (I can't be a full good dancer). After a little while longer I had to go because I was getting tired. But before I left eva gave me a kiss on the cheek and a hug and whispered i have something for you. Now before you go crazy or call me a liar it was just a signed DVD. I had to go and said goodbye and good luck and she said the same to me. Now this isn't a girl I would get with mostly because of her past. But she was cool but I don't see myself being in a porn movie so i might not see her again. But I might at Sardo's again because even though she lives in Orange County she has friends in L.A. County. Anyways it was a crazy and fun time. Now you might want proof... I don't have any except the DVD which I'm not going to show anyone. That night you couldn't take pictures because you could use them for profit. You should just trust me. Later on I will post some tasteful pictures of the two pornstars I mentioned above but Randy needs to show me how to work a link. Later!

hi

hey everyone. is this my first post from tejas?... i think so. i just happened to check the blog right after pete said no one ever writes anymore. guilty as charged.

myspace has moved in on the weblog world. i always say i'm going to delete my stupid page but i never do! my sister, leslie, was actually the one who added all those fancy graphics (background and music video... lol, that sounds lame) so i feel bad. last night i was searching for old friends like a freak... i came across one who is apparently married with two kids. i don't get it! i fell behind somewhere. i guess i'm happy for her (whatever) so i sent her a little message. the crazy thing is, i can't remember why we lost touch in the first place. so maybe she hates me?...

i've been seeing this guy who i met during my stint on match.com. (haven't i told you guys about him? wow, it's been a while since i've blogged) anyhow, his name is john, he's a teacher, he came out here to visit already. fortunately he'd planned on moving to texas even before meeting me so he'll be out here in july or something after the school year ends. yay!

speaking of match.com, four coworkers at my new job (which i heart) met their husbands there! isn't that funny? we're like living advertisements... lol. lookout e-harmony!

so my new job is coincidentally the only one i applied for... phew! and i really like it there. everyone is so nice and my supervisor is hi-larious. their dress code is business professional so i have to wear suits to work which is such a far cry from my days of t-shirts and jeans with lauri at imm. we get tons of bonuses and you can't beat their benefits. i'm very lucky.

i'm gonna clean this pigsty apartment of mine. tonight we're taking my mom out for dinner... it's her birthday. i'll write again soon... bye! (p.s. when's the due date, lauri?)

Cuz i wanna!

I'm not posting this morning cuz Pete said something about no one posting. Just thought i'd get that out in the open.

What's been up with me? Well a few things i guess. Let's start off with last weekend. I worked my freakin ass off! It paid off in two ways i think. One, cuz i actually got paid. My $/hr was almost doubled just to come to work and "save the day" if you will. And two, i made quite the impression around the Civic. People like me there and that's a good feeling. Unfortunately i see myself having to play hard ball with the bosses and i don't think i'll be working there much longer. We'll see. At my other job i've been busy. People are taking time off all over the place and leaving me in a lurch. That's the price you pay when you work with who i work with. Speaking of! I know i've talked about this before, but my staff are from a temp agency. They aren't the brightest or most focused people. I've always kinda known this but its actually come out that at least one of my employees is not legal. I'm talking fake ss# and everything. Now my disclaimer, they are from a temp agency, and my boss knows about this, it isn't my deal! Anyway, they listen to Piolin "por la manana" every day and he's getting them all riled up about this proposition or something that makes family members who are illegal in big trouble if you house them (i'm really not sure of the specifics, maybe Pete or Jeff can help me out here). So there's gonna be a march tomorrow in Downtown LA and they are going! Like i said, they are all riled up! On a side note, i'm glad its on a Saturday, that was smart of Piolin! This one employee, Maria, tried to compare me and my family to this ordeal. Like i'm on her side or something? A bit of background here: The girls have recently been told that my dad isn't a citizen and now they feel i am connected to them or something. Far from it my friends! Although my dad may not be a citizen, he has always been up to date on his green card. Something these folks refuse to do. So i bet your now getting the sense of where i stand on this issue. So to wrap it up, they are going to the march tomorrow. Good luck to them. That's about all from the work aspect.

I still have a birdie in my plant! I went around work yesterday showing pictures like a proud parent to be showing the equivalent of a sonogram. I'm so excited! I wish it would happen sooner though. This morning i was running a bit late, no surprise, and i heard the cooing of what i assume was the "father" coming to take the next shift. I can't wait to stare at them all weekend long. I wish i could set up a video camera and be like National Geographic on my balcony.

I expect this weekend to go by very slowly. Which is great with me! Since last weekend was a bust. I think i'll hit the town tonight, cuz that always stretches out the weekend, and do it again on saturday. On Sunday, Pete and I are trying to plan a little getaway. Unfortunately we can't think of anything to do. Morongo again? Drive somewhere and then turn around? Waste the whole day trying to think of something to do only to realize the day is gone? Its not looking good. So that's all for me. I hope today goes by fast cuz its a gorgeous day outside and i know your all outside basking in the sun. I'm jealous. Ok so i hope to see you all this weekend, some way or another.

Just a Post

I am going to keep drinking until I am petrified and then maybe these tears will leave my eyes...

I know WHATS going on...

Well my friends this is what it has come to. Its like a blogging desert out here. We have 9 members and only three regular contributors. In fact my post have become so sparse that I hesitate to include myself. Even Randy's post have degenerated into the reader's digest version of US Weekly. Don't think I don't know what you're all doing out there either, because I know. You're all working like busy little bees, going back and forth on your myspace accounts, adding pictures and telling everyone where you'll be on friday night. Oh yes the secret is out. Am I jealous? Do I sectretly wanna be on everyone's "top 8"? I wish I could honestly say I didn't. But will I give in to peer pressure? NO! I still value substance over style. So what if this modest little blog doesn't have a "sound clip" or graphic feature that will crash your computer. What it does have is some damn good writing when people have time to put in the effort. "So," I hear from the collective din, "what's been goin on with you Pete?"
"Ah nothin' really. Just had my head up my ass these last ten weeks trying to balance 50 hour work weeks with another quarter at Cal Poly." I'm the flavor of the week at work. The young turk who comes in to work on time and thereby whos everyone with his ceaseless dedication. There are those that say, "It's a jungle out there.." Not really, show up on time when everyone else is late, don't freak out when things get hectic, and you're in there like swim wear. Because I was doing this at night when less people are around to see, people assumed I was sleeping. Now that everyone knows I got the skills to pay the bills, they actually wanna pay my bills. We'll see. Next month I'll be the guy who makes everyone looks bad, and I'll have a target on my back. You wanna know the secret to managing Events? You probably don't but I'm gonna tell you. You need to be able to communicate equally well with the security guard that makes $7 and hour and the professional meeting planner that makes $100,000 a year. Simple right? You'd be surprised at how people are incapable of this simple task. It's actually funny to watch when socioeconomic differences come into conflict. Have I written about this before? i'm having bloggin dejavu.
I watched Capote today. I thought it was an interesting character study, but outside of that didn't have much value for me. There's a great scene in the movie where Harper Lee asks Capote what he thought of To Kill a Mockingbird while he was drunk. He reamined quiet until she walked away and finally said, "I don't see what all the fuss is about." In that moment you lose all sympathy for the Capote character.
Thats it for now. Talk to you soon.

Spring is Here!

I'm gonna be a "mommy"! Well this bird is anyway. Pete and I have named her and there's gonna be babies! It's a Mourning Dove that decided to make a nest in one of my plants on my balcony. It says that the eggs will hatch in about 14 days and then there will be little ones! I can't imagine chirping birds right outside my window. So i'll keep you all updated and then take pictures of the babies in a couple of weeks. Its freaking Spring people!!!!! This Post was written by Lauri not Pete. Romance & Assorted Trivial News

Hello everybody. I have a lot of time to waste and am not seeing anything too exciting to blog about. So we'll see how this goes.
First of in romance news we have actually got quite a bit to chew on. Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber may be head to splitsville. The duo which have been dating for a little less than a year ago are experiencing what sources are calling "a rough patch". A snitch reports Liev has been telling people he's having "girlfriend trouble", while Naomi is telling friends to keep an eye out for new boyfriends. Of course both sides are denying any problems and the the two couldn't be happier. Liev and Naomi aren't the only ones battling off rumors off going kaput. The hypermammiferous Carmen Electra is denying the persistent chatter that she and Dave Navarro are on the fastlane to splitsville. Electra says though if they ever have problems she will not be one to hide it. She will take off her wedding ring. Oh my!! She maintains though they are doing fine and having no problems. That's apparently not the case with our favorite hellenic-addicted celebutante Paris Hilton who is once again rumored to be kaput with teen Greek billion-heir beau Stavros Niarchos. The New York Post says the self-promoting starlet was "trolling for hunks" at the "Godfather: The Game" launch in Los Angeles last week. At one point she turned to her pal and asked, "Are there any hot guys here? I need a hot guy." Luckily Paris is keeping her options open, a few days before the "Godfather" bash, she was spied looking friendly with ex-fiancee Paris Latsis at a Los Angeles eatery, reports the London Mirror. Apparentlyaccordingg to a mole the two Paris were getting quite close and personal. The exciting adventures of Paris Hilton to be continued...
There may be slightly less cash for Nick Lachey to collect when the dust finally settles in his prenup-free divorce from Jessica Simpson, at least if her current spending habits are any indication. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the benevolent bombshell tipped a whopping $300 on a $380 bill Saturday at an eatery in Albuquerque, N.M., where she's been filming the romantic comedy "Employee of the Month."
In related news, Kristin Cavallari has decided to clam up about her reported romance with Lachey. According to TMZ.com, paparazzi confronted the "Laguna Beach" blond, 19, as she returned home on Monday, supposedly after spending time at Nick's new $5 million Bel-Air pad. "When are you going to see Nick again?" asked a shutterbug, prompting Kristin to sing-song, "I'm not going to talk to you about that."
There's been much talk in recent days about how much more appealing Kevin Federline looks now that he's gotten a haircut, with some going so far as to bandy about the word "sexy" (it should be noted that everyone looks better without cornrows or Pebbles-style ponytails, so let's not go nuts here). But it turns out K. Fed's refreshing interest in grooming is for a good cause; his hard-working new publicist helpfully pointed out to the New York Daily News that his much-mocked former mane was donated to the children's charity Locks of Love.
In related news check out K.Fed's MySpace page where you can hear his new song. It's for the haters. Knowing that K.Fed has a MySpace page makes me reconsider me creating my own MySpace page. This will cause me some thought tonight.
I've told a few of you about the World Series of Pop Culture before -- which tapes April 28-30 in New York. Unfortunately the in-person tryouts have passed.
So because VH1 is so nice even though you missed the in-person tryouts, though, you still have a chance to participate. Next Wednesday at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. EST, VH1.com will hold timed tests to determine who makes it onto a wild card team for the World Series. Go to this page to learn more details, take a practice test, sign up for an e-mail reminder and more. Good luck, and let me know if you make it!
I actually did pretty well on the sample test so I signed up for an e-mail reminder. I have to study. I got a lot of useless pop-culture news in my head but I need more.
This is starting to become overly long and I think you guys are growing tired of me talking about entertainment news and gossip and linking to pictures and what not. So I might be trying something else. I haven't decided yet. So in what may be my last entertainment post I will leave with a link to a Natalie Portman Music Video that can only be defined as "stalkerish". A new word I came up with, you like? Anyway here is the link Oh Natalie. The supremely sexy Natalie Portman ladies and gentlemen. Here is one more "stalkerish" video this time of the fabulously gorgeous Keira Knightley. Link here Oh Keira. Ok kids I am done for the night over here. I am tired of typing and linking so I am going to watch Natalie and Keira over and over and over till it's time to leave here.
Have a good night or day depending on when you read this. Bye.

Happy Benito Juarez Day

That's right kids it is Benito Juarez Day. Wow how time flies...First St. Patricks Day now Benito Juarez Day. I mean the holiday season is officially upon us.
Ok now that the important stuff has been taken care of onto more non-important stuff. I was gonna talk about famous people whose birthday is today. But it's really only Benito Jaurez. Man that just threw my whole first half out the window. Shit.
Ok well hmmm...Here we go. It seems like NBC has pulled the plug on the unfunny Four Kings. This according to a report from The Futon Critic. Repeats of My Name is Earl will be shown in it's place.
Let's talk about sequels. There are quite a few out there on the horizon. Here are just a few sequels either filming now or set to begin filming. First up we have Evan Almighty a sequel to the Jim Carrey film Bruce Almighty. Carrey is not attached to this idea so the film will instead focus on Steve Carrell's character. We'll have to see how that pans out. My guess...Ughhhhhh. Next up Batman Begins I have heard some rumors they are considering Dane Cook as The Joker. Please God say it ain't so. First of all I realize that while The Joker is a BIG Batman villain. He should be off-limits in these new movies. Nobody can do The Joker like Jack Nicholson did The Joker. Say what you will about the older Batman movies. But Jack in the first one was The Joker. Frankly if you ask me, any post-Jack Nicholson attempt to portray The Joker is a disaster waiting to happen no matter who plays the part.
Of course you already knew another Narnia is on the way. Disney is never one to turn it's back on a sequel. In more exciting sequel news it seems like the Weinstein Bros. are interested in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon movies. And finally, it sounds like we'll finally see a Spider-Man 3 preview when Talladega Nights hits theaters this summer, even though Spidey isn't scheduled to return until 2007.
Who is excited about Superman Returns? Someone at Ain't It Cool News has seen footage of the new flick and has posted what he saw. Now be fair warned I am linking to this review but there are spoilers galore so only read if you don't mind not being surprised. Go here for the review but you can't say I didn't warn you. A new trailer for the Vince Vaughn & Jennifer Aniston vehicle The Break-Up is online and actually looks funnier than I expected. That is still not saying much though considering what I expected.
This is possibly the most bizarre yet intriguing thing I have ever seen.
SNAKES ON A PLANE. Please watch this trailer.
This is an actual movie people. Hey it starts Samuel L. Jackson so it can't be bad, right? One thing you can say about Sam Jackson, by the time he retires from movies he will have starred in more crap than anyone else on the face of the planet. I actually though caught myself thinking, How did the snakes get on the plane? How are there so many? Is it really that easy to shoot a snake with a taser? So many questions. I must see it again.
OK I could talk about some more news like the latest on Nick Lachey & Kristin Cavallari which is all the rage now. But I am tired of typing and worn out from SNAKES ON A PLANE. So I am going to take off for now. You will just have to wait till tomorrow for more exciting news.
Have a good night or day depending on when you read this. Bye.

Remember Me?

Sorry guys I haven't blogged in a hella long time. Nothing exciting has happened. But I did have some fun on St Patricks day. As you know I didn't go to the Crown. I actually went some friends from Joan Of Arcadia to Sardo's which is a Karaoke Bar in Burbank. I drank around 6 beers and a kamikaze shot. Sang 2 songs. It was all fun. About 60 people cheering while I sang Good Charlotte's Lifestyles Of The Rich and Famous. That really happened. Something exciting might happen soon. I haven't a kinda second interview at dave and Buster's tomorrow. Also for all you Scrubs fans it was picked up for another season not sure if it was NBC or who picked it up. I just joined My Space and hope all of you guys want to be my myspace friend. I'll talk to you later.
A shout out to all you myspace nerds. "The innocent shall suffer...big time."

I just noticed how many contributors there are to this fine Rat Race blog. Its like everyone i know! And most of us actually contribute. I hope that those who don't write as much as we'd like will challenge themselves to start writing every now and then. Tonight is the big nite. St. Patrick's Day! Someone bring a camera so that pictures can be posted on the Rat Race. Cuz tonight we are going to be escaping the actual rat race (not me though) and its gonna be great. But be careful cuz its Friday and it might get a tad outta control. Enjoy the day and night!
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!

MySpace

So somehow i've been sucked into the MySpace world. I'm very upset with myself for making a page and making contacts and even filling in all the stupid info. I just get so bored at work ya know? My sisters are on it and some co-workers and i like to see what they are up to. I still can't believe it though. I almost feel like i joined a dating web site or something. Well look me up if you want to. And another weird thing is that there are tons of "Lauri's" around. Who knew?

Yesterday was my sister Leslie's birthday! I don't know how old she is though. Early twenties for sure. Growing up i thought it was impossible to not know how old your siblings are. But now i can barely recall my age. Its odd. But anyways, Happy Birthday Les! It was also Tim's birthday on Monday. There was a trip to Big Bear and i have yet to hear anything about it. Is it one of those trips where "what happens in Big Bear, stays in Big Bear?" If so, it'll come out one day. When your all drunk and telling stories. It always does.

This Friday is St. Patrick's Day!!! whoooo hooooo! I have to be careful though, gotta work saturday. I hope everyone will be there, at the Crown that is. Wear your green. Its also the second day of March Madness. I've filled out my pool and given my money. We seem to be doing it every year here at work. There is one co-worker who really enjoys basketball so he's always in charge. Oh and Sheila, Michael said that i can't win this year cuz you won. I had to remind him that you won two years ago. I swear, he'll say anything just to hear himself talk. THINK MAN THINK, then speak. Anyways, it'd be sweet if i won. The money will go towards VEGAS!!!!!!!

At work we make stuff that has an expiration date of 11 weeks. What comes in 11 weeks? The Vegas trip. So i keep thinking its right around the corner. But its not. I think everyone should focus on working up the alcohol tolerance so there isn't any drunken drama. That's my plan. NO CRYING IN VEGAS!

Ok its almost 11am. I can start thinking about work now i guess. I've had my two cups of coffee and played on the internet and Rochelle brought me a ham and cheese croissant, yummy. I'm good to go. Is anyone thinking about Happy Hour tonight? I can't decide if i wanna go yet. We'll see how the day goes. Have a great day everyone!

Slow Day

Hi everybody. I'm back online, I know it was a long five day wait. But as they say good things come to those who wait. So let's get going...
First off I want to rant about the quality of movies out right now. I was looking at the Top 10 movies this weekend and I can say without a doubt it is horrific. The movie Failure to Launch was number one and reading this review makes it clear to me at least that it shouldn't have been. Reinforcing my view of America as a nation of movie going dumbasses who wouldn't know a good movie if it hit them on their god damned head. Sorry. Number two was the equally embarassing remake The Shaggy Dog. Call animal control this dog of a movie should have been caged and locked up forever. Yet somehow it wrangles number two. Coming in next we have The Hills Have Eyes a remake of the 1977 Wes Craven movie. Another remake, I am sensing a trend here. This movie is best described as...I can't even come up with anything. Typical horror movie shit. I am going to stop here because I don't want to keep linking to reviews of the remaining dismal movies out now. Now you are saying to yourself once again, "Randy you didn't see these movies maybe they aren't as bad as you think." BTW I hope to God no one I know is really thinking that. Because nobody in their right mind should be subjected to having to see these movies. Anyway one last thing the only way Hollywood is going to start to put out good movies is if people don't see the shit they put out now. If nobody saw these top 3 movies this weekend maybe Hollywood would think maybe romantic comedies that aren't funny and remakes aren't the way to go. Let's come up with an original idea. Alas that won't ever happen because half of America is made up of dumb ass moviegoers who will see anything. That was my rant for the day.
Moving on to more pleasant news...How much would you pay for this Lego version of Han Solo in your apartment? I won't go into all the reasons this would be one of the ultimate coolest things ever. Because you should know. What else is happening? Apparently Britney Spears has had it with K-Fed's freewheeling spending of her money. Below is an excerpt of the story:
Ok there was going to be an excerpt of the story below but Blogger is pissing me off with this blockquote shit not working. So no excerpt instead a link. No never mind. The moment has passed. Basically K-Fed can't spend all his wife's money anymore without her approval.
That was annoying...moving on here is another pic of Salma Hayek for Joe after dissing her last week. What's next...man it is a slow day for news today. Oh here is something kinda cool. How well do you know your dead musicians? Take this Dead or Alive Quiz and find out. I scored a six out of eight. Not bad should have done better though. Oh well. Anyway I can't find anything really exciting to talk about today I am sorry.
Here are 5 DVD's out today that are definitely worth a look at:
  1. A History of Violence
  2. Good Night and Good Luck
  3. Domino
Sorry I can actually only find 3 this week and technically "Domino" came out last week. But I had five movies so I pushed it to this week. It may not be one of the best movies ever but I have three words for you Keira Knightley nude that should give you all the reason you need to rent that movie.
Well I am afraid that is it for today. Sorry about the shortness and not very linkable post. I will try harder tomorrow. For now I must bid you all adieu. Have a good night or good day depending on when you read this. Bye.

Not the worst idea in the world...

I have 50 pages of writing to do this week. Literally 50 pages. Incentive to finish? Drink through it. It wasn' t the worst idea in the world.

Two Vaders, One Room

The Star Trek convention (now called Sci-Fi Summit) is back in town and I'm working it this weekend. I was in the men's room when in walked two guys, one dressed as Anikin Slywalker, the other in full on Darth Vader. I freaked out man. It was like the deleted dream sequence or somekind alternate reality going on. It took me a little while to get re-oriented to reality after that. I had to ask myself later though (as I am wont to do) who would win in a fight? Anikin in his Prime or Vader in full on "more machine than man" mode? I'd like to think Vader would wipe the floor with that whiny little pansy but I suspect it would not be so. Maybe I should get a couple bucks together and have those two impersonators go at each other for a while. Just so y'know I could visualize it in my mind. I wouldn't want anyone to get hurt or anything. well...maybe a little hurt, someone has to lose a hand right? Isn't that the motif? Now I'm thinkin how homie in the Vader suit actually used the bathroom and If the real vader ever had to take a whizz. I don't remember a zipper on that suit...And does Vader eat? I gues he can eat we saw him without the helmet in Empire didn't we? Does he bathe? How long can he be with out the suit? Man my whole reality is coming apart here. I'm like a kid in Disneyland that sees Mickey without his head on....

Slow Day

Its Friday (TG) and its only 11am. Since i arrived at work i've done nothing but play on the internet. Did you know that you can go to MySpace and search old classmates? So i decided to check out my high school and i found a few people that i've been wondering about. Almost all of them have children and they are successful too. I even saw two girls that were my best friends way back when. (Jessica and Alda...FOR SHEILA) I don't have a MySpace account and i don't plan on getting one, so i can't communicate with them. And then i think about it...do i want to talk to them? Not really. I figure we'll all cross paths eventually. This year is my 10 year high school reunion. I have no idea if anything is planned and do i care? Would i go? Hell yeah i'd go! Cuz checking out those girls, i'm super thin! Ya gotta go when it comes to that. So check it out if your as bored as i am.

Yesterday i went to Ikea during my lunch break and i bought a new dresser. Going alone to Ikea is a gamble. I picked one out but then decided that i would go look at how it was boxed before i bought it cuz i was alone. It was a two box item and they were thin and very long. I got them on the cart fine but getting it into the car was a different story. I struggled for 20min while men walked by and didn't help. I was working up a sweat. Finally i decided that in order for the other box to get in i would have to open it. So i opened it up and took some stuff out so that i could bend the cardboard and slide it in the car. It worked and i was finally on my way. Pete and I put it together last night. I think it took about 3 hours to complete. My old dresser will become firewood for those going to Big Bear. Hope it keeps you warm.

Wednesday nite Happy Hour was very fun i thought. Lotsa people came out. It wasn't even a special occasion. I think we all had a hard day and needed a drink. I wonder what tonight will hold. It is Friday! I gotta work tomorrow nite at the Civic. Call me if anyone goes out! And i'll do the same.

Its supposed to be a crazy weather weekend. Right now the rain just started in Pomona. Its very windy out. Something everyone knows around here at work is that if its raining, let Lauri know. I'll be in my office and the receptionist will call me with the status of the rain fall. Its great. I think they secretly make fun of me though, but i secretly make fun of them for continuing to update me. Either way, it works out.

Earlier this morning i was in need of a second cup of coffee. I went to the lunch room only to find that the coffee was all over the floor (that's right Sheila). Somehow, and i don't know who, but the spout handle thing was lodged down and the coffee was left in an open position just slightly enough to drain all the coffee out. It was so sad. i got a couple of people to help me clean and the coffee was still warm and everything. It was under counters and in drawers, it was a mess. I wanted to ring out the towels into my cup (not really). So by 10am there was hardly any coffee. Not a good thing for a slow day.

Guess that's about it for now. If anything else happens i'll let you all know. Otherwise, stay dry and warm and maybe i'll see you tonight. :)

Need a title...

As you can see by my title I am struggling to come up for a name for this little blog idea of mine. Any ideas? All submissions will be viewed equally. Now on to pressing matters.
First, to Joe I was not dissing Salma Hayek in any way she was super hot on Sunday night. Unfortunately I just think Kiera Knightley overall was hotter. However due to your comment just for you here she is the beautiful Salma Hayek as she looked on Sunday night at the Oscars. So you know Joe and anyone else, that picture took me a half hour to find. Insane. Moving on though... I have gontten a few inquiries as to where our quote below our blog title came from. A song by John Mellencamp is where. A little ditty about Jack and Diane. Just in case you were wondering.
I was thinking about condiments today. Like if you could only have one condiment for the rest of your life what would it be? Most people would likely choose ketchup. But I thought about it and I would so choose BBQ sauce. BBQ sauce makes everything taste better while I think ketchup is just an addition to most dishes. Sure there are the detractors from BBQ sauce but come on. When you go to eat ribs do you get them covered in ketchup, I think not. And frankly chicken nuggets in ketchup is worthless to me, I would rather have them plain if that's the only option. Besides there are like how many different types of ketchup. It all comes down to the same ingredients whether it's catsup or ketchup it's basically pureed tomatoes. BBQ sauce on the other hand has slightly different nuances. There's Mesquite, Sweet and Spicy and Original just to name a few. So next time you think about ketchup on your burger or whatever else you eat reach for the BBQ instead. Thank you. Paid for by Americans for the advancement of BBQ Sauces.
Ok now for some entertainment news
I have some bad news people but after I reveal this we must keep ourselves together and press on. Take a breath here we go...It was confirmed yesterday that "The Bachelor" couple has called it quits. The romance is over and frankly if those two can't make it what hope is there for the rest of us. For more info click here.
Gimme a sec I am still getting over "The Bachelor" news. Ok I am over it what's next...
The Weekly World News is a great source of news such as disturbing, informative or amazing news. I strongly suggest taking a look at these articles or picking up an issue at your local news stand. And we're moving...
Alex found this little bit of coolness it's a Superhero Quiz. No offense meant to Alex though but I don't think it works very well. I was Spider-Man but amazingly enough so was Alex. And we are not that similar. So go ahead take it and let me know the results. NEXT
Paris Hilton is in the news today. Are you surprised? It appears as if a man named Brian Quintana pictured there with paris Hilton has successfully obtained a restraining order again the celebutante ordering her to stay at least 100 yards away from her unless they are both at a party then it is shortened to 25 feet. For a more in depth review of this story click here.
What else is happening... Teri Hatcher reveals in the upcoming Vanity Fair that her uncle sexually abused her 35 years ago. How do you respond to something like that? You don't.
Remember when I informed you the newly single Nick Lachey and his gal pal Miss Kentucky USA were an item. Well this just in, I may have jumped the gun there because yesterday he was seen with Laguna Beach star Kristin Cavallari. I will definitely be keeping my ear to the ground for more info on this turn of events.
Men around the world rejoice Uma Thurman is once again single. The Kill Bill star has announced she and hotelier Andre Balzs have split. It is actually quite a change from Thurman's statement in Februrary when she declared, "Everyone constantly taunts you that rebound relationships aren't a good idea and that they don't work. But mine is working, surprisingly." Guess not, huh.
Some more about Paris and this time it involves former BFF turned bitter enemy turned contractually obligated co-star the painfully skinny Nicole Richie. Filming on the fourth season of "The Simple Life" began this week in Los Angeles. Basically the premise is "Wife Swap" but with Hellenic addicted hottie Paris and skin and bones Nicole being swapped. The participating clans, will then vote on who handled the household better (read: who caused the least amount of destruction and trauma). Hilarity is hoped, will ensue.
One last bit of entertainment news this one for country music fans like myself...
Brad Paisley led the list of nominees for the 41st Annual Academy of Country Music Awards with six nominations, including top male vocalist of the year.
Brooks & Dunn and Sugarland received five nominations each, while Rascal Flatts and Carrie Underwood had four apiece.
Rascal Flatts and Underwood announced the nominations Wednesday.
Kids that is all I got for the day...I am sure if I wanted I could dig up some more dirt; however, I gotta have something to dish about tomorrow, right?
This is Randy signing off and wishing you all Good Night or Day whenever you read this...Bye!

What ever happened to these Motherfuckers? I'd give at least one nut to be that thin again.

I AM ANGRY WITH TECHNOLOGY

Now I'm pissed. I just wrote this whole post and when I went to post it and guess what? It disappeared. Now you will never know the greatness that I wrote. It's gone forever!

Don't even say "Why didn't you save the draft?" Simple, I don't do that kind of stuff , this isn't a paper for school (is it really that serious?). And if you say that I'll get more angry, it might even drive me to drink. Ha! Let's not even joke, I'll drink anyway. Speaking of drinking I'm expecting to see you all tonight at the Hump Day happy Hour!

Cheerio

Hump Day

As it turns out, i'm kinda lonely here at work by myself. There's two reasons to that though. One is cuz Sheila is obviously gone and i have no one to talk to in my office. I drink my coffee alone and there isn't any "schkeming". Then i actually start working around 9ish instead of 11ish. The second reason i'm lonely is its going to take a while to make some friends around here. Having Sheila around i didn't need to converse with anyone else really. I've made some enemies and snubbed others. But i'm trying to be nice and i'm getting a good response. I bet your wondering how it is that people don't like me (at least i hope your wondering). I get very angry here at work and i walk around with a look on my face like, i'll kill you. And the personalities here are insane, i mean these people are just dumb. An example of people not liking me is: A few years ago when i was working under another boss i was so angry it was frightening. In the next office was a couple of guys who started working here just to run a new machine. One of them would always smile at me as i walked back and forth by his office. I never said hi and he didn't either. At the Christmas party a few months later he was sitting at the table with me and Pete and others when the conversation started on me. He told Pete, "I thought Lauri was a total bitch!". And he was serious too. Pete was pretty surprised. I learned a lesson from that though. But its still hard around here. Oh and to top it all off, i'm NOT a morning person. Please don't talk to me till around 10am. So that's job #1.

Job #2 is going much better. I'm not sorry that i talk about work, its all i do up until the summer time. So bare with me. On Saturday was the Soul Train awards. It was long and painful. At the time that it was supposed to end, it was only half way through. Rumor spread that someone was backstage in need of a bathroom but ended up peeing on stage somewhere. I think that was the all time low. When it finally ended i had gone through two dead walkies and was on my third, and i left two and a half hours after my original finish time. I got offered a job too. A new job to replace this one. There's two things holding it from me though. The money and the schedule. I'm still waiting to hear from the guy about it. I may be surprised but i think the door has closed on that one. I'm dying for a small getaway. All work and no play makes me sad. Except it rains practically every weekend now and i just can't think of anything to do. Got any ideas? Sheila is doing great out in Texas. She's doing things that she wouldn't have been able to do here. Its all coming together nicely for her. I'm jealous. Except i wouldn't want to be in Texas. She still reads the blog so if she wants to post, i won't steal her thunder by telling you guys everything. And finally a note to everyone:
Randy: Keep those posts coming. I know Tim is enjoying his daily read.
Pete: Buy the computer so we can blog all day and all night long.
Sheila: Miss ya! Give all the animals a hug for me.
Jeff: Happy hour?
Alex: You should comment sometimes, Randy like comments.
Amanda: Please blog! I still check your blog daily.
Tim: You should spray your hair green for St. Patty's Day. Are you working that night?
Lynlee: Is Sunday Funday still going on?
Tom: ........ (exactely)
Dave: I think i can say for all of us that its nice to read another blog!
Joe Bima: I have yet to see your battle wound, but its becoming legendary.
Owen: Got any stories?

Ok well i think i've gotten everyone. Hope you all have a great day and lets post some more pics of random things, i like that. Bye!

I'm back

Hey, hey, hey I said I would be back with more exciting news and while there isn't a lot of it. The stuff that I have is pretty good. Actually not much news here really more links to things that I find cool or interesting.
I promised you a link to the Natalie Portman rap and I will deliver.
Link 1 takes you to the NBC site
Link 2 takes you to the YouTube site.
Either way both lead you to a hilarious rap skit starring Natalie Portman.
Ok enough about the totally awesome and super-hot even with a shaved head Natalie Portman.
Anybody who missed last night's double episode of "24" missed three great things. First of all one of the best episodes of 24 in a long time. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Second of all it marked the reappearance of Jack's most beautiful daughter Kim played by actress Elisha Cuthbert. Thats right I said Elisha Cuthbert. That name one more time is Elisha Cuthbert. Third of all the new trailer for X3 before it hits theaters. Lucky for you my readers I have the link to it Right Here. Looks good I just don't know? I am still undecided about it. I like the X-Men but not Brett Ratner so much. We'll see, who knows?
What else is going on... A clip, which depicts the opening credits of The Simpsons using real actors has quickly become an Internet sensation. Check it Out Here
I know I had my rant about the Oscars yesterday so today I am going to through that's right, Worst dressed. The only real reason people watch the Oscars anymore...Quickly before that a shout out to Keira Knightley for easily winning best dressed. Now onto the losers.
Poor Charlize Theron what was she thinking. The on the shoulder 3 ft. 30 lb. bow alone leaves her open for mockery not to mention the beehive hairdo. NEXT!
Paris Hilton sure she wasn't at the awards, Thank God. But you know she would be at the after party in this most god-awful gown. The feathers, the binding and bedazzled dress. Why oh why? There are more like these two kooks, or these two Hands Out of your Pockets but I am going to keep if brief. Oh just one more small Oscar higlight or lowlight depending on how you look at it Jennifer Garner taking a trip on her way to present an award.
That's it no more Oscars for now.
Here are some choice DVD's out now that you should check out
1. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
2. Jarhead
3. Walk the Line
4. Pride & Prejudice
5. (and if you must) Just Friends
One last thing before I get going, the WBC (World Baseball Classic) is underway here in the USA and we won our first game against Mexico. For a more in depth review of the game click here.
Alright kiddies that is it for today. You are just going to have to wait for my next edition of me linking to things and embarassing myself with Worst Dressed lists and linking all over Natalie Portman and Elisha Cuthbert.
Tomorrow I will give you the winners of the 26th Annual Razzies and my comments if you just can't wait till tomorrow...click the link Razzies. What else I will be talking about not sure of yet, whatever strikes my mood. For now I bid you all...Good Night.

Hey y'all

So it's 8:30PM and I was going thru all the blogs when I decided to yet again grace you all with one of my exciting posts . So get ready to be taking on the ride of your life!!
So I guess it's Lent or something, right? I ain't giving up jack. First of all I am not Catholic. Second of all I think people use Lent as a reason to give up things they don't want to. For instance if I still smoked I could say I am going to give up smoking for Lent. But then after Lent I could start again it doesn't make sense to me. Maybe that's just me. I am sure there is some religous belief behind it but you know how I feel about that. Now don't get mad I am just voicing my opinion.
I just finished reading Dave's new blog Click Here . Check it out. I think he's got a winner on his hands. What else? I work Monday thru Friday this week and get Saturday and Sunday off. I think that's pretty cool. I will know what it is like to have a real weekend off. I am so lame and I know it.
So the Oscars were last night. I have been reading reviews of it and the only thing they all agree on is that the show was boring, low-rated and dull. I can't say I disagree. I found myself drifting off to various other channels during the telecast. Not a good sign. I thought Jon Stewart was funny here and there. I thought for the most part most of the winners were well deserved. That is until the end of the telecast and the last award of the evening Best Picture when a perfect evening was ruined . Now I will admit I haven't seen any of the movies nominated but from what I have heard and read from various sources it was clear the winner should have been "Brokeback Mountain". In the article I linked to I think does a very good job of illustrating the reason "Crash" shouldn't have won. Again though it is their opinion and mine personally. I still must admit I sure have a lot of opinions for someone who didn't see any of these movies. I will be checking each of these out on DVD to form my own opinion, more on this later.
I am having a lot of fun linking today, I should do this more often. Hmmm....what can I link to now. How about a little Pop Culture, actually trashy gossip like...
Have you seen the breasts, I mean the girl Nick Lachey is supposedly attached to at the moment Here's one pic , and another . Definitely no Jessica Simpson , just one more . Oh well so goes life in the limelight they say, I guess.
Could it be true... Lindsay Lohan and inexplicable babe magnet Wilmer Valderrama are back together? The New York Post says so and Us Weekly has the pictures to prove it even though I haven't found them yet...
For those "One Tree Hill" fans out there is some gossip for you too... Sophia Bush & Chad Michael Murray split up a while back but now Sophia is seeking an annulment to eradicate her failed marriage citing the reason as "fraud". Word is she is referring to Chad's wandering eye as the real reason. We'll have to see how this one plays out, kids.
Teri Hatcher has finally admitted she succumbed to the lure of Botox and collagen but insists her days of messing with Mother Nature are over. We'll see about that...
So Anna Nicole Smith the former Playmate and Guess! model has finally got her day in front of the US Supreme Court and so far the Supreme Court justices seem sympathetic to poor Anna Nicole Smith.
All right kiddos I am out for the night now. Sta tuned for more I think I am going to make this a daily fixture. I really enjoyed this. A few things to keep an eye out for in my next post. Hopefully a video or a link at least to the hilarious SNL Digital Short from last Saturday's SNL featuring a rapping Natalie Portman. And of course more fun and trashy gossip. PEACE!
Have a good night or day depending on when you read this.
