Group Work:Pete

So in college they have this thing called group work. Its where the Professor gets take a little break and we all benefit from "collaborative learning. " Riiiiiiight. The reality of group work is that you get into groups and no one wants to be the leader because if you appear to confident then you'll get stuck with all the tasks. Most of the class time spent in groups is spent talking about other classes and majors and other professors. This group work model is a joke. The fact is, sometimes it works in your favor and sometimes it doesn't sometimes you are the guy who does all the work and sometimes you are the guy that doesn't do crap. It worked in my favor the other day in Spanish class but I didn't feel good about it and I didn't learn anything. We were supposed to write this paragraph in spanish in a group. Well I got put in a group with two native speakers. They had the paragraph done in 5 minutes and i didn't have to do anything. Whats the point. There was this other time where we were supposed to work in groups and make a presentation. We assigned duties to each other and the other dude showed up eith no work done, I had to give the entire presentation.Give up the group work.
