and speaking of that....

That line from my last post came from the 1951 original version of The Thing. If you want a really good old sci-fi movie here are two of the best. They both involve the atomic age in some way or another and both play on the 50's paranoia of invasion by "aliens" AKA communists. And both are by respected old school director's, the first was by Howard Hawks and the Second by Robert Wise.

Can everyone see the pics this time? let me know.

I should really check these out. I love movies that are secretly anti-Communist or even openly anti-Communist (Red Dawn, Rocky IV, etc.)

Actuall these ones aren't really anti communist they just play on the paranoia of the era. Most they are about the fear of nuclear war or atomic energy

Maybe they weren't strictly anti-Communist but they were anti-Soviet, which is basically what I meant. They were definitely a product of the era. Thanks Reagan!

No what I meant was that the movies in the posters I posted weren't anti communist. The movies you meantioned were definitely anti-Soviet anti Commie. Practically every movie of the eighties had the russians portrayed as enemies. Russians or Arabs. Remember Rambo III when Rambo helps the Taliban against the Soviets. oooops. Is that what we call blow back?
